TNI Commander Confirms To Fire Members Involved In Online Gambling
TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto confirmed that he would impose sanctions for dismissal of his members who were involved in online gambling activities.
"What is clear is that those who violate my law. Heavy punishments can be fired. So that people can repent," Agus said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, June 14.
According to Agus, online gambling activities must be eradicated because they have harmed the lower middle class. Not only to the community, he assessed that eradicating online gambling activities must also be carried out from within the TNI.
This is in accordance with the president's appeal to avoid online gambling activities.
Recently, several TNI personnel have also been involved in online gambling activities, however, Agus did not comment on this.
Previously, a TNI member named Letda Rasid from the Brigif unit used unit operational money amounting to Rp876 million for online gambling.
This embezzlement of funds was revealed when Captain If Sandi as Pasi Log Brigif 3/FFB asked for the third Phase I self-management fund Denma Brigif to Rasid
(5/6).
However, Rasid never gave the funds for two days (7/6). Rasid finally admitted his actions which had embezzled unit money for online gambling purposes
Rasid was immediately examined and then put in the cell to be detained during the examination process.
Head of the Army Information Service Brigadier General Kristomei Sianturi said that currently Rasid is being prepared internally.

He ensured that the TNI would take firm action against all personnel found involved in online gambling, especially using the troop budget.
"Every form of gambling, both conventional and online, is against the law and the military code of ethics. Every member who is proven to be involved will be prosecuted according to the rules and regulations," said Kristomei (13/6).
