TNI Commander Explains Aid That Has Been Sent To Palestine

TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto explained all the assistance that his party had sent to Palestinians since last year.

The aid was sent in the context of carrying out a peace mission to help Palestinians who were victims of war.

Agus explained that the first assistance that had been carried out was sending food aid packages, medicines, baby and women's equipment weighing 26 tons from 4 to 8 November 2023.

"We used two Hercules C-130 AU aircraft through El Arish Egypt airport," Agus said in his meeting with the board members (Indonesian Ulema Council) in Menteng, Central Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, June 14.

Agus admitted that the aid shipment went smoothly. After that, Agus explained that the second phase of logistics shipments used KRI Radjiman Wedyodiningrat from January 18 to March 15, 2024.

"At that time the TNI sent 242 tons of critical needs such as food, medicine, complete needs for infants and women," Agus explained.

After going by sea, Agus and his staff returned to shipping logistics by air but with a different method, namely water drops or deploying aid packages from the air from March 29 to April 7.

The aid was brought by Hercules planes from Jordan's King Abdullah II Airport. The assistance sent was in the form of 20 packages of logistical needs weighing 160 kilograms each.

Recently, the TNI has prepared further assistance to be sent to Gaza in the form of KRI which is a floating hospital, additional defense equipment to logistical assistance.

Agus ensured the aid would be delivered if a ceasefire had taken place in Gaza and the TNI had a mandate from the United Nations.
