TNI AD Examines Members Who Embezzle Rp876 Million In Unity Funds For Online Gambling

Head of the Information Service of the Indonesian Army (Kadispenad) Brigadier General Kristomei Sianturi said his party was examining members who embezzled unit funds amounting to Rp876 million for online gambling.

"Regarding the case of budget abuse by Lieutenant R, Paku Brigif 3, he is currently undergoing examination and deepening his involvement in online gambling for further legal proceedings," Kristomei said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 13.

Meanwhile, Lt. R is the Acting Financial Officer (Paku) Brigif 3/TBS. This embezzlement of funds was revealed when Captain If Sandi as Pasi Log Brigif 3/TBS asked for the third stage of the self-management fund Denma Brigif to Rasid, Wednesday (5/6).

However, Rasid never gave the funds until Friday (7/6). Rasid finally admitted his actions which had embezzled unit money for online gambling purposes

Rasid was immediately examined and then put in the cell to be detained during the examination process.

Kristomei ensured that the TNI would take firm action against all personnel caught involved in online gambling, especially using the troop budget.

"Every form of gambling, both conventional and online, violates the laws and military code of ethics. Every member who is proven to be involved will be prosecuted according to the rules and regulations," said Kristomei.

His party will also learn from this case and will further increase socialization to all units so as not to get caught in the vortex of online gambling activities.

"We will also strengthen the internal surveillance system to quickly and effectively detect and follow up on cases of violations," said Kristomei.
