Badminton Delegation Departs Early For The 2024 Paris Olympics
JAKARTA The badminton (sports) team will depart early on July 13, 2024, to France to prepare for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Head of the PBSI Development and Achievement Division, Ricky Soebagdja, said that the badminton team would fly there on schedule if nothing changes.
"We will depart early. (The plan is) there is a training camp there, in Chambly. If there is no change, we will depart on 13 (July 2024). So, there are approximately 10 days to go to the venue, athletes' village," he said.

Chambly is approximately 40 kilometers north of Paris City. This city is a commuter in the Oise Department which is planned to be the training camp (TC) for the Indonesian badminton team ahead of the biggest four-year multi-event event.
Actually, since a few years ago, there have been several cities that have offered to become PBSI training camp venues. However, Chambly is considered the most in line with the team's priority needs.
At the end of February 2024, Indonesian badminton athletes had set foot in that place. At that time, they had three days for the training camp to welcome the French Open 2024 tournament.
Ricky explained that leaving for Paris early would certainly provide more opportunities for athletes to surprise themselves because of the weather differences in Asia and Europe which are quite far away.
"The goal is that the air is different in July. Unlike February and March. So, we adapt earlier. Hopefully this adaptation can be utilized properly," he said.
The 2024 Paris Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024. In total there are more than 10 thousand athletes from 206 delegates to become contestants in the world's most massive sporting event.
The 2024 Paris Olympics badminton sport will be held at the Porte De La Chapelle Arena, Paris, France, from July 28 to August 5, 2024. Indonesia sent six representatives from five sectors.
The representatives are Jonatan Christie, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari, and Gregoria Mariska Tunjung.
The six representatives are currently focusing on preparing themselves at the PBSI Cipayung National Training Center (Pelatnas), East Jakarta, after all of them did not participate in the 2024 Australian Open which was taking place this week.
