IOS 18 Is Not Compatible With Some Popular IPhones, Is Your IPhone Included?
JAKARTA - Apple has officially announced iOS 18, a major update for the iPhone, which will be released this fall with new features such as customization options, messages via satellite, and Apple Intelligence. However, not all iPhones will get these updates.
"We are excited to introduce iOS 18," said Craig Federighi, Apple's Senior Vice President of Software Engineering. "This is a huge release with incredible features, including a new level of customization, a redesigned Photo app, and powerful new ways to stay connected to Messages."
Here is a list of iPhones that will support iOS 18:
However, if you use the iPhone X or older, you won't be able to enjoy this software update.
Many users with older devices feel disappointed with this news. Some of them expressed their disappointment on social media. One user wrote: "Not available on the iPhone X, why?" Others added: "If SE is supported, I definitely think X should also be supported."
The iOS 18 update offers some interesting features, especially those focused on privacy and Messages apps. Users will be able to lock certain apps to maintain privacy when lending their phones to others, as well as hiding certain apps from views or in hidden folders.

In the Messages app, iPhone users will soon be able to schedule messages for the first time and send messages via satellite, which allows communication without WiFi or data connections.
The most interesting feature may be Apple's new AI system, Apple Intelligence, which will be integrated into an iPhone with new software updates.
"This release also marks the beginning of a new, very interesting era of personal intelligence with Apple Intelligence that presents an intuitive, powerful, and immediate useful experience that will change the iPhone's experience, everything with privacy as the core," Federighi said. "We can't wait for users to experience it."
