Suddenly, the players of both teams provided assistance while asking the medical team to immediately enter the field. The Indonesian and Filipino players argued that the circle covered Adrian, who was being given intensive care.
After first aid was carried out, the medical team decided that Adrian should be rushed to the hospital immediately. Amunishan immediately entered the field to take the defender.
After the match, Tom Saintfiet discussed the player's current situation. He admitted that he had not heard the latest news from the hospital that handled the player. However, the team doctor suspects Adrian has a concussion.
"I spoke briefly with the doctor (the team). They thought it was a concussion. The doctor is now going to the hospital to check his condition there because the player has gone to the hospital," Saintfiet said in a press conference after the match.
"We haven't heard from the hospital yet. However, the initial suspicion was a concussion and that's the reason we were allowed to replace it because FIFA rules do state that there is a concussion, we can make a sixth change."
"In addition to that reason, we are not allowed to replace it. However, I have not heard about the exact information," said the coach.
Apart from the player's condition, Tom Saintfiet regretted the referee's decision not to give a penalty kick to the Philippines. The reason, he considered that there was a violation that occurred in the incident.
"There was a moment when the Indonesian goalkeeper collided with our defender, Adrian. If you see the rebroadcast, the goalkeeper doesn't touch the ball, but touches our players."
"So, I think the referee should have been able to give a penalty for the incident," said Saintfiet.
"The referee didn't blow the whistle, but I think it was a penalty. I understand the regulations and I don't want to talk bad about the referee."
"However, if (we get a penalty), maybe we can make a comeback in the game," he said again.
