China Issues New Rules To Encourage Cross-State E-commerce

JAKARTA - On Tuesday, June 11, China issued draft rules to promote overseas warehouse development and expand its cross-border e-commerce business, which has become a vital force in its foreign trade. This is known according to China's trade ministry.

Companies like Shein, PDD Holdings' Gathering, and AliExpress, most of which deliver Chinese-made products to markets around the world, have grown rapidly in recent years.

This opens a new growth path for several companies that previously focused on domestic consumption, which remains sluggish due to the macroeconomic slowdown, a prolonged property crisis, and insecurity of income.

The announcement of the trade ministry, which includes draft rules for cross-border e-commerce both in and out, states that it will also seek to improve cross-border data management and optimize cross-border export supervision.

The national government's ministries and departments will expedite financing channels and help cross-border e-commerce companies to "go global," the ministry said.
