Palestinian Defense Action, Din Syamsuddin Asks Government To Send Military Troops To Gaza

JAKARTA - Former General Chairperson of PP Muhammadiyah Din Syamsuddin asked the Indonesian government to send military forces to the Gaza Strip in defending Palestine from Israeli genocide.

This call was conveyed by Din who is also the Head of the Indonesian People's Alliance of Defending Palestine (ARIBP) in the Palestinian defense action in the Horse Statue area, Central Jakarta

"What is the best way to stop the atrocities, the barbarity of Israel against Gaza? We come to the conclusion, there is no other way or one of the best ways is by military action," said Din, Sunday, June 9.

Din emphasized that this request was also in accordance with the ijtima ulama decision of the Fatwa Commission of the Indonesian Ulema Council.

In addition, Din also invited a number of countries that are members of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC) such as Turkey, Pakistan, Iran, and countries outside the OIC to help send military forces to defend Palestine.

"Only then can we stop the Israeli zionist aggression and open America whose embassy is not far from here (the Monas area)," said Din.

Today, a number of people began to gather in the Horse Statue area, Central Jakarta to participate in the Palestinian defense peaceful demonstration since 15.00 WIB. The action begins with reading prayers together.

When the call to prayer, Ashar was heard. The Indonesian People's Alliance Committee Defends Palestine stopped the activity for a moment. The participants of the action one by one went out of line, looking for a place to carry out the Asar prayer.

Some people carry out congregational prayers on the edges of the road with several groups. They pray with mineral water that is brought by each and immediately carry out their prayers solemnly.

Many participants in the action brought their children to participate in this activity. The children seemed enthusiastic about participating in the action.

A number of figures also attended today's Palestinian defense action. Among them were PP Muhammadiyay Chairman Din Syamsuddin, Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Hidayat Nur Wahid, to the Secretary General of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Amirsyah Tambunan.

A total of 1,597 personnel were deployed in anticipation of the Palestinian defense demonstration which will take place in the Horse Statue Area, Central Jakarta. The goal is to anticipate things that are not desirable.
