Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Appreciates The Improvement Of Saudi Arabian Government Hajj Services

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin appreciates the Saudi Arabian government's Hajj services, which according to him continues to improve and get better.

This was conveyed by the Vice President in his interview session with the Al Arabiya News Channel media, as in the video uploaded to the Vice Presidential Secretariat YouTube account.

"Services for our congregation get enough attention. I express my appreciation and appreciation to the Saudi government, because the first Saudi government provides additional quotas for this year and has also prepared excellent services, (including) visa management services so that visas are very fast (out)," said the Vice President as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, June 8.

The former chairman of the MUI expressed his gratitude and high appreciation to the government of Saudi Arabia for the additional hajj quota given annually, as well as improving the quality of visa services and facilities in Arafah and Mina.

"Although I told him (the Saudi Arabian official) that Indonesia should have added more (the quota) because in the regions it has to wait up to 50 years," he said.

The vice president expressed that the Indonesian people's enthusiasm for Hajj was very high, even for those who had carried out Umrah. The vice president observed that in some areas the waiting period for Hajj was very long.

"If you were given an addition (more quota), it would be accelerating even though it was only a few years," he hoped.

The Vice President praised the good coordination between the Indonesian and Saudi Arabian governments.

According to him, the Minister of Hajj of Saudi Arabia himself acknowledged that Indonesia is one of the countries with very good administrative management to facilitate coordination.

"Even though it's good, we continue to try to improve. Because this pilgrimage moves people in a short time. I call it a lot of muskilat, a new problem. And we will continue to try so that it doesn't happen next year," he said.

The Vice President also appreciated the rapid progress of infrastructure development in Medina to support the implementation of the pilgrimage. Including, improvements to hotels and increasingly modern and dynamic transportation arrangements.

"I think development is the fastest and continues to develop in this world, one of which is in Medina. There are improvements, additional hotels, then there are always improvements in arrangements, this makes it easier for people to have Hajj so that there is no buildup," he said.

The vice president also praised the increase in floor capacity at Mina and smooth transportation at the airport both in Jeddah and Medina, which can receive aircraft every five minutes.

"Serving large numbers of pilgrims, in my opinion, is not an easy thing, and it should be appreciated, given a thumbs up, because services that continue to improve towards improvements every year," said the Vice President.
