Seeing A Series Of Safety Components In The Cisumdawu Toll Twin Tunnel
JAKARTA - The Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan (Cisumdawu) Toll Road has a twin tunnel which is also the longest and first toll tunnel in Indonesia.
The twin tunnels are equipped with various safety components that serve as rescuers and assist motorists during emergencies, such as earthquakes and fires.
Reporting from the official website of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT), Friday, June 7, here are a series of safety components in the Cisumdawu Toll Twin Tunnel:
1. Emergency Generator
Emergency generators are a backup generator system operating when the power grid fails to deliver electricity. Emergency generators can operate with gasoline, diesel, natural gas or propane.
In addition, this generator operates if normal power fails, by disabling normal power and operating an emergency system with a selected electric emergency load.
2. Evacuation Line
The next component is an evacuation route that can be used during an emergency situation. On this evacuation route, emergency routes are available in the tunnel.
Users will be directed to the face of the tunnel through the right and left sides of the road following the instructions of the emergency route using a pointing light.
3. Fire Fighting System
Furthermore, the fire fighting system consisting of fire detection elements, such as fire extinguishers and fire monitoring equipment in tunnels that already include fire alarms and manual fire extinguishers along with clues.
The equipment has been provided in the tunnel and can be used by users. Meanwhile, for large-scale equipment and available personal protective equipment are intended for use by firefighters.
4. Phone Alarm
Then, there is a component of the phone alarm available in the tunnel and can be used in two-way voice intercoms, recordings, single calls, group calls, broadcast calls, one-way broadcasts, timing broadcasts, reservation broadcasts and call sequels.

5. Emergency lights
There is an emergency light which is divided into three parts.
First, emergency light I is used when the main power source stops, emergency lighting through an emergency generator with no more than 3 seconds of switching time and a time duration of more than 30 minutes.
Emergency light II will automatically turn on the diesel generator inside the tunnel when the power outage time exceeds 30 minutes (time can be adjusted).
This diesel generator can be turned on manually when the power goes out.
Then, there is an emergency induction light installed in the tunnel to facilitate the evacuation of road users during a fire. Signs of emergency induction lights indicate the direction and distance of the nearest escape portal.
