TNI Prepares 4 Battalions To Be Sent To Gaza If The Republic Of Indonesia Is Restricted By The United Nations
TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto stated that he prepared a brigade consisting of four battalions to be sent as peacekeepers to Gaza, Palestine, if the Republic of Indonesia received a mandate from the United Nations (UN).
According to him, the four battalions consist of BattalionSupport, Health Battalion, Engineer Battalion, and Briefing Battalion. According to him, the four battalions will consist of 1,212 personnel.
"We will form a Composite Brigade consisting of BattalionSupport, Engineer Battalion, then Health Battalion, and Briefing Battalion, there," Agus said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 6.
He explained that the Health Battalion has medical treatment capabilities because it is equipped with a doctor. Then, according to him, the Engineer Battalion has the ability to make construction, and the Briefing Battalion has the ability to make public kitchens.
Meanwhile, the Support Battalion is prepared to assist security for the personnel on duty later in Gaza. According to him, security forces are still needed because the area is still in conflict.
"So we still secure our assisted troops," he said.

In addition, he said the TNI had also prepared two hospital ships for the peace mission, namely KRI Rajiman and KRI Suharso. According to him, the two hospital ships can help care for people affected by the conflict.
"It can be treated on board the ship, and there is also an emergency unit that can operate first class, there is x-ray and there is an ER," he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Defense Muhammad Herindra said the troop shipment was still waiting for a long process because it was waiting for a mandate from the United Nations. In addition, his party also discussed plans to evacuate civilian victims.
"Later we will send the field hospital and we can evacuate civilian casualties in Gaza to be brought to Indonesia," said Herindra.
