Czech Train Collision Kills Four People
Four people were killed and more than 20 injured when a passenger train collided with a freight train in the Czech Republic on Wednesday, June 5 evening.
Rescue operations have been carried out and authorities will investigate the cause of the crash in the city of Pardubice, police said.
About 380 people traveled by train, the Fire Rescue Service said. The train traveled overnight from Prague to the city of Chop in western Ukraine, according to the operator RegioJet website.
The freight train carries calcium carbide dangerous industrial chemicals even though the first two carriages were empty, so there was no leakage, the fire department said.
