Volvo Starts Production Of EX90 In US, Sent Second Half Of The Year
JAKARTA - Volvo announced that the first unit of EX90 was successful through the production phase. This model will strengthen the manufacturer's portfolio in terms of complete electrification.
This model carries a three-line SUV style and is expected to change the paradigm for the company because it is the first Volvo car powered by core computing technology, a technology that allows a new era of safety for our cars.
EX90's fully electric Volvo is the beginning of a new era for safety, sustainability and human-centered technology, Jimvan's Chief Executive Volvo Cars, quoted from the brand's official website, Thursday, June 6.
The EX90 Volvo is assembled at the focal factory, South Carolina, United States (US). It is scheduled that the first unit will be delivered starting in the second half of this year.
The car was introduced in November 2022 and is scheduled to launch to the market in 2024. The EX90 Volvo is expected to meet the needs of environmentally friendly mobility by offering a spacious space with a wider capacity.

The Volvo EX90 was built on the Scalable Product Architecture 2 (SPA2) platform developed by Volvo. This platform is also the basis of Polestar 3.
This model will be offered in two versions of powertrain, namely Twin Motor which has up to 300 kW of power and Twin Motor Performance which has a higher power of 370 kW. However, these two variants have the same in carrying the driving of all wheels.
With the impressive double electric motor performance, EX90 can run from 0 to 97 km/h within 5.7 seconds for the Twin Motor variant. Meanwhile, Twin Motor Performance offers acceleration from 0 to 97 km/hour in 4.7 seconds.
These two types are equipped with a battery pack of 111 kWh which is claimed to offer a range of up to 482 km. The Volvo EX90 has the capability to charge from 10 percent to 80 percent within 30 minutes with a charger of 250 kW.
The manufacturer also offers two trim options, namely Plus and Ultra, as well as a 6-7 seating configuration option. All trims offer standard equipment ranging from heat pump, heating front and rear seats, as well as a heating steering wheel.
Competing in the premium electric vehicle segment, Volvo EX90 is priced starting at $77,990 or equivalent to IDR 1.2 billion for the initial to highest variant of 87,840 US dollars of around IDR 1.3 billion.
