Papuan Youth Dormitory Instructors Forced Dozens Of Students With Oral Sex, Threatened With Dozens Of Years In Prison
JAYAPURA - The male dormitory coach for Taruna Papua Timika School with the initials DF (30) is threatened with a dozen years in prison on suspicion of committing violence and sexual harassment against dozens of students.
The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Mimika Police, Commissioner Adjutant Hermanto, said the DF suspect had only served for more than 1 year as a male boarder for the Papuan Youth School.
The suspect is charged under Article 82 Paragraph (1) of Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Child Protection.
From November 2020 to March 9, said Hermanto, DF was suspected of committing violence and sexual harassment against 25 Papuan Youth School students in Wonosari Jaya Village SP4 Timika who were between 6 years and 13 years old.
"There are 25 victims who have just reported, 24 students and one female student. As many as 10 people experienced sexual immorality and 15 people experienced violence," said Hermanto as quoted by Antara, Sunday, March 14.
The mode used by the perpetrator, namely when on duty at night to care for Papuan Youth School students in the male dormitory, DF invites students one by one to the supervisor's bathroom to be forced to have oral sex.
To smooth out his tricks, DF used a piece of wooden ruler to threaten the students. Several students who refused DF's invitation were beaten with an electric cord.
The Mimika Police will coordinate with psychiatrists to carry out an examination of DF's psychological condition, who is currently incarcerated in the Mimika Police detention cell.
The police also asked other students who may have experienced a similar incident to report immediately.
Meanwhile, DF crime victims are now receiving assistance from the Mimika Women and Children Empowerment Center (P2TP2A) officers to deal with their psychological trauma.

After being asked, the victim then recounted the tragic experience she had experienced.
"In accordance with the statement of the perpetrator during the examination, initially the perpetrator often bathed the students naked so that the intention arose to commit sexual immorality," said Hermanto.
In connection with this case, the police have examined 13 witnesses, namely the victims, the head of the foundation, the head of the dormitory, and a number of teachers.
