President Director Of PLN: PLTS Supply 100 Percent Of Electricity During The 79th Anniversary Of The Republic Of Indonesia Ceremony At IKN
PT PLN (Persero) supplies 100 percent of electricity needs for the celebration of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day on August 17, 2024 in the capital city of Nusantara, East Kalimantan Province, which is sourced from the Solar Power Plant (PLTS) facility.
"God willing, the August 17 ceremony at IKN, the electricity is 100 percent of the new renewable energy," said PT PLN (Persero) President Director Darmawan Prasodjo during a speech at the PLN Hub IKN first stone laying agenda, Wednesday, followed by the Presidential Secretariat network in Jakarta.
He said that all electrical energy needs were supplied through the IKN Solar Power Plant (PLTS) facility, whose construction process had started since November 2, 2023.
"At the end of last year, the President inaugurated our PLTS groundbreaking at IKN, and we are carrying out our duties," he said.
PT PLN through PLN Nusantara Power subholding managed to connect the IKN PLTS to the 10 Megawatt (MW) phase I transmission network out of a total of 50 MW on Thursday, February 29.

President Director of PLN Nusantara Power Ruly Firmansyah in his statement ensured that PLTS IKN operated on time and could be used to power IKN during the 79th Indonesian Independence Day ceremony.
The first phase synchronization with a capacity of 10 MW has been successfully carried out according to schedule. We will continue with synchronization for 40 MW, the rest and carry out trials until later this PLTS can operate commercially to electrify IKN," he said.
PLTS IKN 50 MW is the pioneer of the new renewable energy plant (EBT) in IKN which is built on an area of 80 hectares with 21,600 solar panels and is able to absorb up to 337 local workers.
