Chronology Of Mass Poisoning In Sukabumi, 109 Residents Fall After Eating At A Thanksgiving Event
SUKABUMI - Hundreds of residents in Sekarwangi Village, Cibadak District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java experienced mass poisoning after eating food at a thanksgiving event ahead of the wedding.
The thanksgiving event was held on Sunday, June 2, at one of the residents' houses, precisely in Cikiwul Lebak Village, RT 01/02, Sekarwangi Village, Cibadak District. However, residents felt symptoms of poisoning starting on Tuesday afternoon.
The village head of Sekarwangi, Abeng Baenuri, confirmed that hundreds of its citizens were poisoned due to food provided by one of its residents who held a wedding celebration.
"So on Sunday there are those who are grateful, they want a celebration and then they come (residents) on Sunday. After that it's okay, but Monday some have started symptoms, but they don't think it's poisoning," he said.
According to Abeng, to determine the cause of the mass poisoning, the police from the Cibadak Police have taken samples from the food remains, which will later be handed over to the Sukabumi District Health Office.
"Tuesday afternoon, at around 17.00, many were affected, so it is predicted that the rest of the food is still there, be it rice or cakes and other processing, the sample has been brought by the police," he said.
Head of Cibadak Sub-district, Mulyadi, said the number of residents who were poisoned was 67 people, while 46 people were taken to Sekarwangi Hospital for treatment.

From the latest data obtained from the Sukabumi Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Tuesday night at 23.00, it was recorded that there were around 109 people who experienced mass poisoning in the incident.
