KPUPR Targets Permanent Handling Of Bocimi Rampung Toll Road Before Nataru
The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) targets the permanent handling of the Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi (Bocimi) Toll Road for the Ciawi-Sukabumi section of section 2 KM 64+600 after the landslide that occurred on April 3, 2024, to be completed before the 2025 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays.
"Handling is expected to be completed before this year's Nataru holiday, because the Nataru holiday the previous year was quite high. If the Ciawi-Sukabumi toll road is not used, there will be a fairly severe congestion on the national road," said Secretary of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) of the Ministry of PUPR Apri Artoto as quoted from the official BPJT website, Tuesday, June 4.
To deal with landslides at KM 64+600 on the Bocimi Toll Road, temporary handling has been carried out by installing a steel sheet pile at the landslide location.
Currently, there are two alternatives to the permanent handling of the toll road that is hit by landslides, namely the installation of a 60 meter (m) long solver pile with a 4 month installation time and the construction of a 2x25 m bridge with a time of 5 months.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of Commission V DPR RI who is also the head of the group for Specific Working Visits Roberth Rouw emphasized that the government should immediately carry out the best handling for the Bocimi Toll Road for the Ciawi-Sukabumi KM 64+600 section.
"This is a concern for Commission V to see and encourage the government to take action so that this year it can function again. We know very well that this toll road is highly expected by the public, because there are indeed many congestions on the national road to Sukabumi. So, this toll road is very useful," he said.
Roberth also asked the government to evaluate the landslide incident. "And we can report to Commission V of the DPR RI regarding the option of being elected in the permanent handling of the toll road landslide," he added.

Previously, the Bocimi Toll Road, precisely at the exit of the Parungkuda kilometer 64-600 toll road, collapsed on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.
As a result of the incident, a unit of Isuzu Panther's car that was passing fell into a landslide about 10 meters (m) deep. In addition, two cars hit a median road in shock to avoid landslides.
"There were three vehicles involved in the incident, namely two MPV cars and one truck," said PT Trans Jabar Tol (TJT) President Director Abdul Hakim in a written statement in Jakarta.
The three vehicles drove from Jakarta to Sukabumi at a speed of approximately 80 km per hour in lane one. When crossing km 64+600 A, suddenly one lane had an avalanche. Thus, one of the MPV vehicles fell into a hole.
