Police Arrest Young Fortuner Thief In Semarang, Admits It's Take A Friend's Car

The police arrested a young doctor with the initials MAL (23) on suspicion of stealing a Toyota Fortuner car belonging to a fellow young doctor who was undergoing the Koas program at a hospital in Semarang City, Central Java.

"The suspect and victim MJ (23) are one team during koas," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Semarang Polrestabes Kompol Andika Dharma Sena as reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 3.

The theft occurred on May 29, 2024, in front of the Wilasa Panti Hospital, Jalan Dr. Cipto, Semarang City. From the perpetrator's confession, said Andika, the crime was for fun.

"This perpetrator took the victim's car keys which were stored in the hospital locker," he said.

However, he continued, the police are still investigating the exact reason for the suspect's actions.

The police who traced the theft report found the victim's car was still parked near the perpetrator's boarding house.

From his statement, the perpetrator admitted that he had no intention of selling the car because it was just a fad when he did it.

For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 362 of the Criminal Code regarding theft.
