Overcoming Waste, DKI Provincial Government Needs Additional Budget Of IDR 277 Billion
Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency (LH) Asep Kuswanto said that his party proposed adding a budget of IDR 277 billion in changes to the APBD for the 2024 fiscal year.
Previously, the proposed amendment to the APBD at the DKI LH Office budget post amounted to IDR 4.1 trillion. With this addition, the Department of Environment needs a budget of IDR 4.3 trillion.
"We need an additional budget for the procurement of truck compactors," Asep said in his statement, quoted Monday, June 3.
Asep explained that the truck compactor is one of the efforts of the Department of Environment to overcome the pollution of the smell of garbage that comes out when transporting to the waste disposal site in RDF Rorotan, North Jakarta.
Compactor-type garbage trucks are equipped with tools to match waste. So, this can prevent the emergence of waste droplets that are transported during the trip.
"So, later all the garbage vehicles that enter the rototan type will be truck collectors," said Asep.
Currently, the DKI Jakarta Environment Agency has operated 332 truck compactors with varying capacities ranging from 6, 10, 12 and 15 cubic meters.
Of the 332, 23 units of new compactor-type garbage trucks were operated in February 2024, with details of 12 units with a capacity of 12 cubic meters and 11 other units with a capacity of six cubic meters.
Previously, the chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, highlighted the problem of unpleasant smells during the process of transporting along the road to the waste treatment site.
Prasetyo hopes that the Department of Environment will be able to overcome waste problems. Especially how to transport to the waste processing site.

"I ask that this be held in Banggar because this is their priority program," said Prasetyo, some time ago.
