Indonesia Vs Tanzania Matches Don't Count FIFA Points

JAKARTA The test match between the Indonesian national team and Tanzania is not included in the calculation of FIFA's international football parent points.

Indonesia is scheduled to undergo the match at the Madya Stadium, Senayan, Jakarta, on Sunday, June 2 tomorrow. Kick off or kick off the match starts at 17.00 WIB.

The Indonesian national team coach Shin Tae Yong denied the news previously that the results of the match were included in the FIFA points which automatically had an influence on Indonesia's ranking.

"Regarding FIFA points, journalists may misunderstand or not know," said STY in a pre-match press conference at the Sultan Hotel, Senayan, Jakarta, Saturday, June 1 afternoon WIB.

"We have agreed with Tanzania that even though this is a tier 1 match, we will make six or more substitutions. So this is not an official match, but a friendly match or training match. So, there are no points for tomorrow's match," he added.

The match against Tanzania was used as a preparation for Indonesia to play the remaining two matches in Group F of the 2026 World Cup Qualification in the Asian zone.

The two matches are against Iraq on June 6 and the Philippines on June 11. Both matches will take place at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK).

Indonesian national team captain Asnawi Mangkualam said that the match against Tanzania was very important in preparation for welcoming the two crucial matches.

"Tomorrow's match is certainly very important for us to finalize preparations for the qualification later. Of course, on the 6th and 11th it was an important match for us to be able to move on to the next round. Indeed, there are some players who have not arrived, but those who have joined from yesterday have good preparation and are in good condition. Hopefully tomorrow can give the best," said Asnawi.

Indonesia currently sits in second place in Group F standings with a collection of seven points. Garuda troops only need one more win to reach the third round.
