BP Tapera Claims Tapera Investment Is More Profitable Than Deposits
JAKARTA - Commissioner of the Public Housing Savings Management Agency (BP Tapera) Heru Pudyo Nugroho explained that saving through Tapera is more profitable than keeping his funds in deposits.
"The return of the cost of savings along with the results of the collection, which is currently from participants of the Civil Servant Housing Savings Advisory Agency (Bapertarum-PNS) is still above the deposit interest rate," Heru said at a press conference at the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), Jakarta, Friday, May 31.
Heru explained that Tapera's savings managed funds were placed on several investment instruments and the largest investment portfolio was in state bonds of 80 percent.
In addition, Heru conveyed that Tapera fund investment instruments are also in the form of corporate bonds with a minimum grade A high rating.
"And most of the portfolios are in triple A. So it's very secure to be very safe. That's the risk appetite that we've made as guidance," he said.
Heru revealed that the target fund for Tapera management depends on the progress of the membership acquisition.
Savings that have been paid by participants can be returned along with the camp when the participant ends.
In addition, participants do not only get the savings results, there will be additional schemes that are being prepared.
"We are currently developing additional benefits or benefits in the form of referrals, such as special discounts with several merchants that we are currently exploring," he said.
Heru said Tapera participants would be required to make mandatory contributions of 3 percent of their total salary every month.
In detail, 2.5 percent is paid by workers, the remaining 0.5 percent will be paid by the company.
Meanwhile, for independent worker participants such as freelancers are borne by themselves.
With Tapera contributions, he said, people will get a house with a flat interest rate of 5 percent.
Meanwhile, if you take the mortgage installments, the interest commercial can reach 11 percent with a tenor of 20 years each.
"So indirectly by becoming a Tapera participant, he saves a year, applying for a mortgage increases the bankability of the participants. This profit is more economical, around Rp. 1 million per month than the commercial mortgages that we use for other needs from the participants," he concluded.
