Regarding 109 Tons Of Fake Antam Gold Circulating In Society, Management: Not True
JAKARTA - The management of PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) has opened its voice regarding the news that there are 109 tons of fake gold belonging to Antam circulating in the community from 2010 to 2021.
"Regarding the widespread news that mentions the existence of 109 tons of fake Antam gold circulating in the community within 2010-2021, the company ensures that the news is untrue," said Antam Syarif Corporate Secretary Faisal Alkadrie when contacted by VOI, Friday, May 31.
He ensured that all of Antam's precious metal gold products were equipped with official certificates and processed at the only gold processing and refining plant in Indonesia that had been certified by the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA). Thus he emphasized that all gold products of the Mulia Antam Metal brand circulating in the community are genuine and guaranteed purity levels.
The 109 tons of precious metal gold products filed by the Prosecutor's Office are considered to be related to the unofficial use of the Antam NGO brand, while the products themselves are original products produced at the Antam factory.
"We understand the concerns and concerns of Antam's precious metal gold product customers. Currently, Antam's entire precious metal product communication channels are available to provide the information needed by customers," he said.
Just so you know, previously the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of the Attorney General's Office determined six General Managers of the Mulia Metal Management and Purification Business Unit (UBPPLN) PT Antam Tbk for the 2010-2022 period in the case of alleged corruption in the governance of gold commodities for the period 2010-2022 weighing 109 tons.

The Director of Investigation at the Jampidsus Attorney General's Office Kuntadi explained that the suspects as GM UBPPL PT Antam had abused their authority by carrying out activities illegally against manufacturing services that should be in the form of merger, purification and printing of precious metals.
As a result of the actions of the suspects, said Kuntadi, during this period, precious metals had been printed with various sizes of 109 tons which were then circulated in the market simultaneously with metal starting with the official PT Antam product.
"So this illegally branded precious metal has eroded the market from PT Antam's precious metals, so that the losses have become more numerous," he said.
