Jake Paul Struggles To Adjust Weight After Mike Tyson's Ridicule 'Gendut'

JAKARTA - Mike Tyson and Jake Paul will duel on July 20, 2024 at AT&T Stadium, Texas. The fight was in the heavyweight.

Jake Paul, a YouTuber challenger Mike Tyson, admits the difficulty of pursuing a heavyweight transformation.

The duel was his first heavyweight clash. As a result, he had to increase his weight to comply with regulations.

Paul seemed to eat more to increase weight. However, that situation made it difficult for the 27-year-old man to do his activities.

He has difficulty running or jogging. His movement has become much slower than before.

"There's definitely a little more power, but when I jogging, I'm much slower. I feel like a rhino or something, it's definitely a lot more difficult to jogging."

"Everything is fine, but there is a slight transition to turning to heavyweight."

"I really need to gain weight so I can compete with Mike Tyson and he can't beat me in the ring. We've played heavyweight and ate more," Jake Paul told TMZ Sports.

Jake Paul had to hit a weight of over 200 pounds or about 90 kg to face Mike Tyson. However, when he came to the press conference, Paul already weighed 230 pounds.

No wonder, his transformation received ridicule from the world boxing legend.

"I don't know if he's in top shape, but he's fat."

"He should be lean and cruel. He was fat. I saw him take off his clothes a few days ago, he was fat!" Tyson said at a press conference some time ago.

Responding to Tyson's chatter, Jake Paul replied with confidence that the weight gain would still make him have a good movement in the ring later.

"Mike Tyson calls me fat, but I'm sure fat will turn into muscle. On the night of the fight, I'm sure I'll be able to move and dance in the ring like a true heavyweight boxer," said Jake Paul.

Jake Paul's lightest weight as a fighter was 183.6 pounds or about 83 kg. However, his last two fights were on the cruiserweight limit, which was 200 pounds (90.7 kg).

Meanwhile, Jake Paul only lost once in his 10 fights. The defeat was won against Tommy Fury with a separate decision (split-decision) last year. After the duel, he has won three times.

In the fight later, Mike Tyson is 58 years old because he has a birthday on June 30.

Tyson requested that the two-minute round be accepted, not three regular rounds. In addition, the fight was held eight rounds with larger gloves (14oz/414 ml) than normal (10oz/295 ml).
