Three Reasons Maliq & D Essentials Are Still Popular After 22 Years
JAKARTA - Maintaining cohesiveness and consistency in working for a band is essential so that music lovers can still be accepted. Not many bands have consistently spawned new works for two decades and maintain their popularity.
Maliq & D Essentials is one example of a band that has continued to be popular for more than two decades. Angga Puradiredja cs achieved popularity through songs from 1st, debut albums released in 2005. Several titles such as Untitled and Silently became their mainstay.
Currently, Maliq & D Essentials is known among young people through their songs that go viral on social media, such as Oh' and We Make Romantic.
According to Angga, what Maliq & D Essentials has achieved cannot be separated from the good relations between personnel. He said this factor was important in the band's 22 years of travel.
"If I think there is a trip, of course there, until one point we can accept each other, the characteristics of each (person)," said Angga Puradiredja in Senayan, South Jakarta, Wednesday, May 29.
"Second, the energy we give each other. The energy of the gig, the energy of the music, seems to really need it for each child. So, the more work, which means the more performances, not the more annoyed but the happier," he continued.
Angga said the second point was always valid during the 22 years of the journey of Maliq & D Essentials.
Furthermore, Angga said there are similarities in the perspective of the personnel to see the future of the band. They try to trust each other.
"Then the third, we go forward together, so we invest everything together. Because we think that one band has known each other for a long time, so the belief is there, when there is an opportunity to move forward with a song, why don't we just work together," said the vocalist.

"Well, this coincidence continues consistently," he added.
However, Angga did not deny the existence of friction in the band. For him, the most important thing is how to see and face these problems.
"But this is not a friction. Until now, there has been a change of personnel. For us, it's not something bad either, it's limited to being in this phase, this person has other energy or something else, it's his priority. Well, we'll walk again with the existing ones, develop again together until finally 22 years," concluded Angga Puradiredja.
