BYD Introduces The Latest PHEV System, What's The Advantage?
JAKARTA - BYD, a well-known automotive company from China, has again made a breakthrough in electrification by launching the latest version or fifth generation of plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) technology.
It was stated that this latest system was developed in order to increase the cost of production and fuel savings and tighten competition with a number of powerful manufacturers in this technology sector such as Toyota.
According to BYD CEO Wang Chuanfu, this fifth generation PHEV technology can achieve fuel consumption of 2.9 l/100 km with zero power battery condition even.

Reporting from Reuters, Wednesday, May 29, BYD claims with batteries and fully charged fuel tanks it can make cars go up to 2,100 km which is realized with the recently launched version of the Qin L sedan and Seal 06 models. It is said that both of them have received this latest technology with price tag ranges ranging from 99,800 yuan (Rp222.6 million).
Manufacturers also claim that customers who own cars with this technology can save up to 9.682 yuan (IDR 21.6 million) of fuel per year compared to pure gasoline users.
Since 2021, previous generation PHEV systems cars have contributed significantly to BYD's car sales. It was stated that this segment had sold as many as 3.6 million units in the last three years.
In addition to wanting to continue the positive trend in the home market itself, the company is challenged to expand its market to various countries, including Japan, Southeast Asia, Australia, and the Middle East where its authorities are implementing slight barriers in trade.
