Proven Corruption, Director Of South Aceh RSUDYA Sentenced To 3.5 Years In Prison
The panel of judges at the Corruption Court at the Banda Aceh District Court sentenced the Director of the Regional General Hospital Yuliddin Away (RSUDYA) Tapaktuan, South Aceh District, Faisal, to 3 years and 6 months in prison for being proven guilty of corruption in the procurement of a hospital management information system.
The verdict was read out by a panel of judges chaired by Hamzah Sulaiman accompanied by Anda Ariansyah and R. Deddy respectively as member judges at the trial at the Corruption Court at the Banda Aceh District Court in Banda Aceh, Tuesday, May 28.
The defendant Faisal was present at the trial accompanied by his legal adviser, Afridal Darmi and his friends. Present was Public Prosecutor Iqram Syah Putra from the South Aceh District Attorney.
The panel of judges stated that the defendant Faisal was legally and convincingly proven guilty of violating Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 paragraph (1) letters a and b of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001.
In addition to imprisonment of 3 years and 6 months, the panel of judges also sentenced the defendant Faisal to pay a fine of Rp. 100 million with a subsidiary or a substitute sentence if he did not pay 4 months in prison.
Based on the facts during the trial, said the panel of judges, the defendant abused his authority as Director of RSUDYA in procuring a hospital management information system (SIMRS).
"The procurement of SIMR at RSUDYA in the period 2018 to 2023. Based on the results of the calculation of the South Aceh District Inspectorate, the procurement of the SIMR caused state losses of Rp. 1.7 billion," said the panel of judges.

During the trial, the panel of judges stated aggravating and mitigating things. Aggravating things, the defendant did not support the government's efforts to eradicate corruption, while mitigating the defendant was polite during the trial, having family responsibilities and the SIMR application was still used at the hospital.
The verdict is lighter than the demands of the public prosecutor (JPU). At the previous trial, the Public Prosecutor demanded that the defendant Faisal be sentenced to 5 years in prison.
In addition to imprisonment, the Public Prosecutor also demanded that the defendant Faisal pay a fine of Rp. 100 million with a subsidiary of 6 months in prison, and pay compensation for state losses of Rp. 388 million. If you do not pay, you will be sentenced to 2 years and 6 months.
On this decision, the defendant and his legal adviser and the Public Prosecutor expressed their thoughts. The panel of judges gave them 7 days to state whether to accept the decision or file an appeal legal action.
