More Than 500 Units Of Mazda CX-90 Affected By Recalls In Australia, This Is The Cause
JAKARTA - Mazda was again plagued with unpleasant news. It is known that more than 500 units of the CX-90 model were affected by the recall due to errors in the control of the module.
A total of 509 units of Mazda CX-90 in 2023 must be withdrawn in Australia. Notifications regarding this case have been submitted to the local Department of Infrastructure.
The authority says that this large-body SUV has calibration problems in Vehicle Control Module (VCM) when the vehicle is advanced at low speed and has the potential to misdetect reflective objects such as metal walls, barriers or similar objects on vehicles.
Thus, this can trigger accidental brake activation, thereby increasing the risk of road accidents.
Accident brake activation could increase the risk of accidents causing injury or death for vehicle passengers and other road users, the Infrastructure Department wrote.
Improvements to this problem are still being prepared. However, when the equipment is available, the company will contact the affected vehicle owners by suggesting they take their car to the nearest Mazda dealer to update the VCM device free of charge.

Previously, Mazda also received bad news on the BT-50 pickup model because this car had to be withdrawn because there was potential damage to the number plate light.
It was reported that 1,703 vehicles were affected in 2021-2023. The local Infrastructure Department said the number plate light on the BT-50 could not turn on when it was at a speed of 10 km/hour and was likely caused by software problems in the Body Control Module.
If the plate light does not function properly, it will increase the risk of accidents because road users cannot identify their vehicles in a parked position or in a nightly condition.
