Ministry Of Social Affairs Renovation Of Aisyah's House In Aceh, Now No Longer Has To Defecate In Plastic
ACEH - The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) renovated Aisyah's house (80), a grandmother from Pulo Rungkom Village, Dewantara District, North Aceh Regency, which now makes her no longer have to defecate in plastic.
Aisyah admitted that she was grateful and grateful for the assistance distributed by the Ministry of Social Affairs through the Integrated Prosperous Home (RST) program.
"In the past, the houses were like this, but all the booths. Then because the toilets were not there, so using plastic, they were just thrown into the forest or river behind," he said when met at his home in North Aceh, reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 27.
At her old age, Aisyah chose to live alone in her house. Even though she lives next to her child, she chooses to live alone because she doesn't want to bother her child.
"I'm afraid it's a hassle because I like to cry at night, it's more comfortable at home, even though it's bad, afraid to disturb my child," he said.
Related to this, the Head of Pulo Rungkom Village, Adami said that the renovation of the house of 3.5 x 5 meters was carried out from March 18, 2024 to May 26, 2024.
The house renovation, he said, spent Rp. 20 million in funds, according to the standard funds budgeted for the RST program.
"Alhamdulillah, we are very happy to get from the Ministry of Social Affairs a house for Mrs. Aisyah. Hopefully, more assistance will come for other residents whose conditions are like Mrs. Aisyah," he said.
Adami said there are four to five similar houses that the elderly live in and require renovations. For this reason, he plans to propose the house to the government, so that it can be renovated as well.

Aisyah's house is one of 27 renovated houses in the RST program, as part of the commemoration of the 2024 National Elderly Day (HLUN) which falls on May 29, which is centered in North Aceh Regency.
Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini separately said this assistance was one of the efforts of the Ministry of Social Affairs to improve the welfare of the elderly, including providing a decent life apart from the health side.
"The welfare of the elderly is not only in the health side. But also the fulfillment of decent life needs to be considered," he said.
