BP Batam Committed To Complete Eco City Rempang Investment
JAKARTA - The Batam Concession Agency (BP), Riau Islands, is committed to completing investment in Rempang Eco City, including handling the impact of the project.
Head of the Public Relations Bureau for Promotion and Protocol of BP Batam Ariastuty Sirait said the central government had stipulated Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 78 of 2023 concerning Amendments to Presidential Regulation Number 62 of 2018 concerning Handling the Social Impact of Community Affairs in the context of Provision of Land for National Development.
Presidential Decree Number 78 of 2023 is the legal basis for providing compensation and relocation for people affected by the development of Rempang Eco-City.
"Based on Presidential Decree Number 78 of 2023, there is no compensation for land to affected residents. However, in the Presidential Decree, residents affected will receive compensation and relocation," said Ariastuty as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, May 25.
He explained that the compensation obtained by residents was in the form of a living expenses of Rp. 1.2 million per person per month, which was given for 12 months since the affected residents occupied temporary shelters.
Not only living expenses, said Ariastuty, the affected residents were also given a temporary rental fee of IDR 1.2 million per month for each family who was also given for 12 months.
"When they arrive at their homes temporarily, each resident will also be given assistance in the form of food packages. Residents are also given free mobilization facilities from their homes to rental houses and return to their permanent homes in Tanjung Banun," he said.
All buildings to plants that grow are also calculated by the Public Appraisal Service Office (KJPP).
He explained that if the community has a building with a larger value based on the assessment from the Public Appraisal Service Office (KJPP), an additional amount will be given in accordance with the difference in value of the house.
"For example, if people have a house worth Rp. 500 million according to the KJPP assessment, then BP Batam provides a type 45 house worth Rp. 135 million, and added Rp. 365 million," he said.
Not only houses, in Presidential Decree Number 78 of 2023 it is also stated that the community gets liver/compensation for land clearing, plants that grow to business facilities, such as ponds, boats to livestock cages.

In addition, residents also get a type 45 house on 500 square meters of land with ownership status and built with an integrated area in the form of a cluster.
"For residential areas, it is equipped with complete educational facilities, ranging from Elementary School (SD) to High School (SMA). Furthermore, houses of worship to government offices (Camat, Lurah, Polsek, Koramil and KUA)," said Ariastuty.
Then there are also soccer fields, markets, fishing ports and tourism, meeting buildings, electricity to clean water, residential roads paved with 8 meters of ROOM.
"We will give the rights that should be accepted by the community. So the rights of these people are very much noticed by BP Batam. Because that is a direct direction from the Head of BP Batam, Muhammad Rudi," he said.
