After The Constitutional Court's Disal Decision, Today The KPU Is Ready For The Evidence Session
JAKARTA - KPU chairman Hasyim Asy'ari said that his party was watching a copy of the verdict read out in a trial, for example, a dispute over the results of the 2024 Pilleg general election (PHPU) at the Jakarta Constitutional Court (MK), which was held on Tuesday, May 21. The KPU, which has the status of the respondent in a number of lawsuits, must take action if the cases pass to the stage of examination of the evidence.
"The KPU as the only party in its legal position as the respondent must pay close attention to the copies of the verdict that have just been read out today and tomorrow morning (Wednesday), to determine their attitude and prepare strategies for examining the evidence," said Hasyim at the Constitutional Court building, Tuesday, May 22.
He explained, in examining the evidence, the Constitutional Court provided an opportunity to prove in various ways that must be prepared optimally.
"It can use documents and provide opportunities for parties including the KPU to prepare witnesses and experts and be given the opportunity for five people," said Hasyim.
Meanwhile, the Constitutional Court read out the verdict of 155 PHPU cases on Tuesday. Meanwhile, 52 other cases are planned to be read out on Wednesday, May 22. The Constitutional Court previously pocketed as many as 297 cases of legislative disputes, including the legislative elections of the DPR, DPD, provincial DPRD, to the registered district/city DPRD.

However, in the trial of the disal decision this time, only 207 cases will be read out. Thus, there are 90 cases that are not included in the schedule for reading the disal decision.
As for the pronunciation of the disal decision, the constitutional judge filtered out which cases could be continued to the evidentiary stage. A number of cases that passed will enter the stage of the evidentiary trial which will be held on 27 May-4 June 2024.
