Setia Supports Prabowo For 3 Periods, PAN Values It Is Reasonable To Get 5 Ministerial Seats

JAKARTA - The chairman of the PAN DPP, Saleh Daulay, considered it natural for his party to get more than 5 ministerial seats in the Prabowo-Gibran government cabinet. This is because PAN has always faithfully supported Prabowo Subianto for three presidential elections.

Saleh initially commented on Bima Aria's statement that PAN would get 4 ministerial seats. According to him, Bima's words were the hope of the cadres.

"If the prayer is not responsibilities, don't 4, tell 5, 6, that makes sense. If it's outside, it's a prayer. The assumption is that it's considered a prayer, I'm sure it's more than 4 of them. Yes, it's called prayer," said Saleh, Tuesday, May 21.

Saleh is optimistic that PAN will get more than 4 ministerial seats in Prabowo's cabinet, because the party chaired by Zulkifli Hasan has supported Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate for 3 consecutive terms.

"So far, PAN has supported Pak Prabowo for 3 terms. We have not got anything to support, we are outside the government. Then we are consistent, most loyal to Pak Prabowo, and Pak Prabowo is most likely to really pay attention to things like this," he said.

Therefore, the chairman of the PAN faction in the DPR considered it natural that PAN could appreciate it by getting 5 ministerial seats. What is wrong, he said, is if there are political parties that are not supporters but suddenly ask for a share of 3 ministers.

"If we get 5, I think it's normal, it's normal, it's not wrong, it's not wrong, what's not right is what doesn't support it, it can't even get 3. Yesterday in the presidential election, suddenly getting 3, that's not right, right?," he said.

"Or, for example, insisting more, that's not right. If PAN really has to be able to be in a democratic system in Indonesia, it's natural, for example, if you can, the problem is whether 4.5.6 is handed over to Pak Prabowo," Saleh continued.

However, the North Sumatran legislator stated that PAN would not intervene in Prabowo regarding the preparation of the cabinet.

"PAN has never pressured, intervened about it, because we understand the affairs of the cabinet structure. Then it is also a matter of how many ministers each party is concerned with the prerogative of the president," said Saleh.

"If we press, force, number and so on, it means that we are not committed to upholding the rights and sovereignty of the president as the elected president who has that prerogative. Before Prabowo mentions numbers, all issues that are outside are not true," he concluded.
