Participants Of The Ready4Security Program Successfully Design Cyber Security Solutions At The U-Connect Competition
JAKARTA - Three Indonesian students, from the Del Institute of Technology, Semarang University, and Tasikmalaya Struggle University who are members of the 'Flying Elephants' group, managed to escape as the first winner of the 2024 U-Connect.
U-Connect is a cybersecurity competition held by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), Microsoft Indonesia, and the InfraDigital Foundation, as part of Indonesia's Ready4Security training program.
The Flying Elephant Team managed to come out as champions after successfully creating their cybersecurity solutions that were integrated with Microsoft's security system technology managed to detect two cyber threat scenarios during the simulation demonstration process.
The first scenario is the gross force attack on Kerberoast, an attack technique in which attackers try many different passwords against an account very quickly, in the hope of finding a match.
The second scenario is the Rozena Malware attack, which is the backdoor malware that uses filesless to embed remote shells into the system or device.

As a result, the solutions they develop are able to protect the network environment consisting of two systems, namely Linux and Windows Server, where they use Linux to carry out an attempted attack scenario against Windows Server.
Since its launch in May 2023, the Ready4Security program has trained more than 1,750 participants, consisting of vocational students, final year students, and young SMK alumni as well as universities from various regions in Indonesia, to improve skills, competitiveness, productivity, and professionalism in the field of cybersecurity.
"Through the Ready4Security program and U-Connect competition, we are proud to witness Indonesia's commitment and talent growth in the cybersecurity industry," said Supahrat Juramongkol, Microsoft Philanthropopies Lead for ASEAN.
