Floods In West Kutai Expand To 6 Districts
WEST KUTAI - Floods as high as more than one meter that submerged West Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan, until Tuesday, May 21, have not subsided. In fact, the flood is now expanding to 6 sub-districts.
Head of the West Kutai BPBD Emergency Section, Seldas Limbong, said the 6 sub-districts that were flooded in West Kutai Regency were Long Iram, Tering, Muk Manaar Bulan, Barong, Melak, and also Muara Pahu sub-district.
"Currently, the water level has increased to 2 meters. However, there are two sub-districts, namely Long Iram and Tering, which are currently gradually receding because the water level has now decreased by 20 centimeters," said Seldas Tuesday morning.

The floods that hit West Kutai Regency are also predicted to continue for the next three days, given the high rainfall.
Meanwhile, flood victims, most of them chose to stay in their respective homes. They have not been able to carry out normal activities, because the road access was cut off due to flooding.
