Vitalik Buterin Opens Voice About Ethereum's Sentralization
JAKARTA - The founder of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin, recently wrote an in-depth blog post about the problems faced by the Ethereum blockchain. In an article published on May 17, Buterin discusses three main issues of concern related to Ethereum centralization: MEV (miner or maximal extractable value), liquid staking, and hardware costs for running solo nodes.
Buterin admits that concerns regarding Ethereum's design in the three main areas are very common, and states that this problem is not as complex as some have predicted. He describes two approaches to MEV: minimization and quarantine, by emphasizing that the quarantine approach has a centralization risk.
Furthermore, Buterin discussed liquid staking and node operations, in which he acknowledged the progress he had made to reduce costs and complexity in running solo nodes. However, he also noted that there is still much that can be done to reduce the time for ether withdrawals to be taken or reduce the minimum requirement of 32 ETH to become a solo staker.

"I'm very proud that Ethereum doesn't have a culture that prevents people from voicing their opinion, even when they have a very negative feeling of big things in protocols or ecosystems," Buterin wrote as quoted by The Block.
Buterin also highlighted the importance of maintaining decentralization and independence in the Ethereum ecosystem. He stressed that Ethereum must remain an open platform that can be accessed by everyone, without any excessive influence from certain parties.
