East Java Police Dismantle Koplo Ecstasy And Pills In Kertajaya Surabaya

The Directorate of Drug Investigation of the East Java Regional Police uncovered a home industry that produces ecstasy pills and coplo pills on Jalan Kertajaya Indah Timur IX Number 47, Sukolilo District, Surabaya City.

The Head of Public Relations of the East Java Regional Police, Kombes Dirmanto, said that the discovery of the home factory for making ecstasy pills and coplo pills began with the arrest of a man with the initials ADH, a resident of Tanggulangin, Sidoarjo Regency, on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

ADH was arrested by the police for storing 9 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and 1,568 pills of ecstasy which were stored in his rented house.

"He is a recidivist, free only last June 2023," said Dirmanto as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 20.

After this arrest, the police then developed the case leading to MY from Tambaksari, Surabaya City. From MY hands, the police again got 5.7 million pills Dobel L aka koplo pills.

MY owned millions of Koplo pills by producing them in a rented house on Jalan Kertajaya Indah Timur IX Number 47, Sukolilo District, Surabaya City.

"MY is a narcotics recidivist in 2018 and free in 2022. Then from the results of MY's arrest, it was only later revealed that there was an industry home that colleagues are now visiting," he said.

At the house, ADH and MY produced Carnophen type double L pills six months ago or around November 2023.

Director of Drug Investigation at the East Java Police, Kombes Robert da Costa, added that the two people who are currently suspects in drug abuse are part of a drug syndicate in a correctional facility in Jakarta.

"So, related to this prison syndicate, the control of the prison in Jakarta. We are continuing to explore it, we are developing this methamphetamine network which is indicated to be from Jakarta, which automatically originated from Malaysia. We are still investigating and the pills printed by industry have been running for approximately six months," he explained.

Robert said the koplo pills produced by the two suspects would be circulated to the lower middle class.

"On average, they are sold to workers, especially Carnophendobel L, which is sold to fishermen," he said.

For their actions, the two suspects were charged with Article 112 and Article 114 of Law Number 35 concerning Narcotics with the threat of life imprisonment.
