Together With The Prime Minister Of Tajikistan, Jokowi Discusses Water Resources Cooperation At WWF Bali 2024

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) discussed cooperation in water resource management (SDA) with Prime Minister (PM) Tajikistan Qohir Rasulzoda.

The discussion was held at a bilateral meeting that took place on the sidelines of the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) Summit in Bali, Monday, May 20.

The two leaders emphasized the importance of international cooperation to address global water-related challenges.

In his remarks at a meeting held at the Bali International Convention Center (BICC), Bali, President Jokowi expressed his gratitude for Tajikistan's support for the documents on the results of the forum to be adopted.

President Jokowi emphasized Indonesia's commitment to work together in ensuring the sustainability of clean water quality for the sake of mutual welfare.

"Indonesia continues to be committed to working together to ensure the sustainability of clean water quality for the sake of mutual welfare. And I expect Tajikistan's contribution as one of the leaders in the global water policy to find a common solution," Jokowi said based on a press release received in Jakarta, Monday, May 20, was confiscated by Antara.

From the Tajikistan side, PM Rasulzoda expressed his appreciation for the invitation and reaffirmed the importance of relations between the two countries. PM Rasulzoda also expressed his appreciation for Indonesia's constructive role in regional and international affairs.

"Tajikistan recognizes Indonesia as an important partner in the region and is interested in strengthening multilateral and mutually beneficial cooperation in our country. We really appreciate the significant achievement of Indonesian brother countries in the line of economic and social development and the constructive role of your country in regional and international affairs is also very valuable," said PM Rasulzoda.

Furthermore, PM Tajikistan invited the Indonesian delegation to attend an international conference on the International Action Decade "Air for Sustainable Development" which will be held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

PM Rasulzoda also highlighted that 2024 will mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, where according to him it is an opportunity to deepen and expand cooperation.

"In 2024, we will celebrate 30 years of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Indonesia and I think our relationship still needs to be strengthened and expanded," he said.

Also accompanying President Jokowi in the meeting were Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, and Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board Bahlil Lahadalia.
