Optimistic Revision Of The Ministry Of Village Law Before October, Dasco: Becomes Prabowo's Reference To Arrange A Cabinet

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives from the Gerindra faction, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, is optimistic that the revision of Law Number 39 of 2008 concerning the Ministry of State will be completed before the inauguration of the new president and vice president in October.

This is because the Legislation Body (Baleg) of the DPR will only change one article in the law. Namely the elimination of the provisions for the number of ministries must amount to 34.

That way, Dasco assessed, Prabowo Subianto as the elected president will use the amendment to the law as a reference in determining the cabinet.

"I have been conveyed by the Baleg chairman that the proposal is only a change of one article, which then gives the president the authority to determine the number of cabinets. So I don't think the discussion will take too long," said Dasco, Monday, May 20.

"And also, when it is finished, it can be a reference for the elected president to be able to draw up a nomenclature," he continued.

Regarding the number of ministries in the Prabowo government, the daily chairman of the Gerindra DPP admitted that he did not know whether it would increase or decrease from the number 34.

However, according to him, of course Prabowo will arrange a cabinet in accordance with the vision and mission during the 2024 presidential election campaign.

"Whether it enlarges or minimizes it I don't know yet. But what is certain is that we will provide space for the elected president to develop a cabinet and nomenclature in accordance with the vision and mission that was conveyed during the campaign," said Dasco.
