Suzuki Offers New CNG Version Of Swift In India

JAKARTA - Suzuki has launched the latest generation Swift for the Indian market some time ago. However, the manufacturer from Japan plans to add to the lineup of the hatchback models.

According to a report by Gaadiwaadi, Monday, May 20, the company plans to launch a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) version in the coming months.

In terms of design, the CNG variant does not have a difference with other types such as a more sporty and distinctive appearance with LED lighting in front and a glossy black grip accompanied by a 15-inch two-tone rim.

The kitchen runway also has no changes, namely with the latest Z-series engine with a capacity of 1,197 cc which has 82 ps of power at 5,700 rpm and a peak torque of 112 Nm at 4,300 rpm.

With the CNG option, it is estimated that the figure of powertrain output will decrease compared to other versions. Chances are, this manufacturer with the 'S' logo provides it only with manual transmission.

This car is also claimed to have fuel efficiency of up to 32 km/kg. Meanwhile, the gasoline version has fuel consumption of up to 24.8 km/liter for manual and 25.75 km/liter for automatic transmission.

Unfortunately, Suzuki did not provide pricing information for this fourth-generation Swift. As an illustration, the gasoline version is offered from 649,000 rupees (equivalent to IDR 124.6 million) to the most expensive one reaching 964,500 rupees (around IDR 185.2 million).

Once launched, this latest Swift CNG will be a competitor to Hyundai Grand i10 Nios which can provide 66 dk of power and 95.2 Nm torque combined with a manual transmission of five accelerations.
