Commission III Of The DPR Will Revise The Police Law, Retirement Age Extended To 60 Years

JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the DPR from the PDIP faction, Trimedya Panjaitan, confirmed that his party would revise Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Indonesian National Police (Polri). One of them is about the provisions for the retirement age limit for members of the National Police.

"I've heard that it looks right (the Police Law will be revised)," Trimedya told reporters, Saturday, May 17.

The PDIP politician explained that the revision of the Police Law would discuss the maximum retirement age of Polri members to be extended from 58 years to 60 years. He said the provisions apply to all ranks in the police.

"(After retiring, red) 60 (years) the target. There is no rank of Sergeant with General, nothing, 60 all of them," said Trimedya.

The provisions after retiring for the National Police Chief, said Trimedya, will also not be distinguished. He said the National Police Chief would also retire at the age of 60.

"If we talk about the National Police Law, yes, the age of the National Police Chief, right, the rank of office then remains at 60, not the difference, please. The Lieutenant Colonel has 65 National Police Chiefs, it's impossible, please. The National Police Chief is also 60 (years)," said Trimedya.
