Launching The End Of May, BYD Seal DM-i Specifications Are Starting To Be Revealed In China
JAKARTA - Introduced at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, deeper specifications for the BYD Seal DM-i model began to be revealed. It is estimated that this car will launch at the end of May, using the fifth-generation DM hybrid technology from BYD, with prices ranging from 120,000 yuan or around Rp265 million.
Quoting from the Carnewschina page, Friday, May 17, Seal DM-i is a medium-sized sedan with a length of 4,830 mm, a width of 1,876 mm, and a height of 1,495 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,790 mm. This model will be included in the Ocean series of BYD.
The information revealed suggests that BYD Seal DM-i will be present in five variants, with a pure electric range of CLTC 80 km and 120 km.
For a version with a range of 80 km, the features provided include 17-inch rims, a 12.8-inch adaptive central control screen that can be rotated with the DiLink BYD operating system, an 8.8-inch instrument panel, automatic temperature controller, six airbags, adaptive cruising control, VtoL mobile power station, six speakers, and tire pressure monitoring.
Meanwhile, the upper class version with a range of 120 km offers 18-inch rims, DC 22 kW fast charging, 6.6 kW AC slow charging, rain sensor windshield wipers, automatic folding rearview mirror, panoramic sunscreen, and DiPilot level 2 advanced driving assistance system.

This car crew comes from the fifth generation DM hybrid system BYD, which consists of 1.5L engines and electric motors, combined with E-CVT. The engine has a maximum power of 74 kW, while the electric motor offers two maximum power choices, namely 120 kW and 160 kW.
Interestingly, BYD provides two choices of Blade batteries with a capacity of 10.08 kWh and 15.874 kWh. They claim that this latest hybrid system is capable of providing a comprehensive reach of up to 2.000 km, making it an attractive choice for consumers who want a car with a long range of combined distances.
