Director Of Maktour Travel And Employees Kompak Mangkir From KPK Calls In The SYL Money Laundering Case
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has canceled examining three witnesses, including Junadya Kartika, Director of Maktour Travel in the money laundering crime case (TPPU) that ensnared former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo. Because they were absent from the investigator's summons on Wednesday, May 15.
"The investigative team was originally scheduled to schedule summons and examination of witnesses," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri, quoted on Friday, May 17.
Ali detailed that apart from Junadya, investigators also actually summoned Sukena and Rifanah who were employees of the travel agent. However, they also did not attend.
"The three of them were not present and without confirmation to the investigative team for the reason," he said.
The KPK asked the three witnesses to cooperate in fulfilling the investigator's summons. They will be rescheduled for questioning but the time has not been informed by Ali.
"The next summons will be immediately conveyed by the investigative team," said Ali.
Previously reported, the KPK named Syahrul Yasin Limpo, the former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) as a suspect in the alleged crime of money laundering (TPPU). This step was taken after he was caught in an alleged extortion and acceptance of gratuities.
The case of extortion and acceptance of gratuities that ensnared Syahrul is currently being tried at the Jakarta Corruption Court. He was charged with extortion of up to Rp44.5 billion during the 2020-2023 period.
