Xiaomi Sends SU7 Electric Cars To 10,000 Customers, Continues To Increase Monthly Production Capacity
JAKARTA - Chinese technology giant Xiaomi has reached a milestone with its 10,000th shipment of electric cars for the SU7 electric sedan model. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun revealed this achievement through his personal account on platform X.
Citing the Carnewschina page, Thursday, May 16, Xiaomi claims the demand for electric cars is very high. In April alone, Xiaomi managed to deliver 7,058 units of SU7 and secured orders of 88,063 units by the end of the month.
Responding to the huge demand, Xiaomi is trying to increase its production capacity. Xiaomi EV is now implementing a double shift production model at its Beijing plant, extending its daily production hours from eight to 16 hours. This step is expected to increase monthly production capacity by nearly 20,000 units.
The company has also stepped up employee recruitment for production lines and carried out maintenance and renovation of equipment to prepare for increased output. In addition, Xiaomi collaborates with suppliers to ensure spare parts supply remains stable, by increasing orders from suppliers by around 80 percent.
Xiaomi targets to increase production capacity to achieve its ambitious goal of delivering 100,000 SU7 units by the end of the year, as demand continues to increase.

As additional information, Xiaomi electric cars come in three trims: Basis, Pro, and Max. The Basic Trim is equipped with a 73.6 kWh battery that produces 299 hp of power and is capable of traveling 700 km in CLTC tests. The battery can be recharged as far as 310 km in just 15 minutes, at a price of 215,900 yuan or around Rp474 million.
Trim Pro offers a 94.3 kWh battery that can cover a distance of 830 km, at a price of 245,900 yuan or around Rp540 million.
The highest trim, Max, is equipped with a 101 kWh battery which can cover a distance of up to 810 km per charge. The setup of the AWD dual motorcycle produces 673 hp and can recharge as much as 510 km in 15 minutes. The price reaches 299,900 yuan or around Rp. 658 million.
With these strategic steps, Xiaomi is optimistic that it can meet ever-increasing market demand and strengthen its position in the global electric vehicle industry.
