JAKARTA - Chinese technology giant Xiaomi has reached a milestone with its 10,000th shipment of electric cars for the SU7 electric sedan model. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun revealed this achievement through his personal account on platform X.

Citing the Carnewschina page, Thursday, May 16, Xiaomi claims the demand for electric cars is very high. In April alone, Xiaomi managed to deliver 7,058 units of SU7 and secured orders of 88,063 units by the end of the month.

Responding to the huge demand, Xiaomi is trying to increase its production capacity. Xiaomi EV is now implementing a double shift production model at its Beijing plant, extending its daily production hours from eight to 16 hours. This step is expected to increase monthly production capacity by nearly 20,000 units.

The company has also stepped up employee recruitment for production lines and carried out maintenance and renovation of equipment to prepare for increased output. In addition, Xiaomi collaborates with suppliers to ensure spare parts supply remains stable, by increasing orders from suppliers by around 80 percent.
