West Sumatra Flash Flood, Social Minister Suggests Immediately Relocation Of Residents In The Likuefaction Zone
TANAH DATAR - Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini suggested that local governments (Pemda) immediately relocate people who currently live in zones or routes that are traversed by liquefaction.
"If you look at the volcanology map, there are several points that the liquefaction route passes and this must be avoided," said Social Minister Rismas, Tri Rismaharini's nickname, while reviewing victims of cold lava floods in Tanah Datar Regency, reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 16.
Although the residents who live in the red zones are not affected by the cold lava flood of Mount Marapi, the threat of liquefaction at any time can occur so that stakeholders need to take quick action.
"So there is an area that is data like that (is in the liquefaction zone," said Social Minister Risma.
The former mayor of Surabaya said that he would immediately coordinate with the local government to immediately relocate if there were people living around the liquefaction zone.
"If you look at the map, he is not exposed to cold lava, but was exposed to the threat of liquefaction earlier," said Social Minister Risma.

In addition, during his visit to Ranah Minang, Social Minister Risma also asked survivors who are currently being evacuated around the cold lava route to be moved immediately.
"Refuges that are still on the cold lava route must be immediately moved to a much safer place," said Social Minister Risma.
He is worried that if there is another high-intensity rain, then cold lava floods have the potential to occur again and hit the refugees.
