Man In Bangkalan Arrested While Trying To Rape A 6-year-old Boy

Members of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of the Balangan Police, South Kalimantan Police, arrested a middle-aged man with the initials SY (53) for allegedly being involved in acts of violence against children.

"The victim is a six-year-old girl who was almost sexually assaulted by a middle-aged man in Balangan," said Balangan Police Chief AKBP Riza Muttaqin as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 15.

Riza said the victim received immoral acts, even though the perpetrator did not have time to have intercourse with the child.

Riza revealed that the victim had swelling in the vital organs.

Riza said the victim's family reported the alleged violence committed by the suspect SY to the Balangan Police.

Furthermore, members of the Balangan Police arrested the suspect during the 2024 Intan Brush Operation.

"Currently, the perpetrator is already in the Balangan Police detention cell to undergo further legal proceedings, and the victim is recovering with assistance from the PPA unit," said Riza.

In addition, Riza added that Balangan Police officers also handled eight criminal acts during the two weeks of Operation Brush Intan.

For four cases, including revealing operational targets and four other non-operative targets.

"For cases handled, it includes disclosure of drug cases, alcohol and sexual abuse of minors," explained the Police Chief.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief of the Balangan Police, Kompol Muhammad Irfan, added that in addition to the disclosure of eight cases handled by members of the Balangan Police, they also made preventive or preemptive efforts and preventive criminal acts.

"The Balangan Police personnel also carried out patrols during the intan brush operation, as well as controlling illegal parking in the Balangan area," said Irfan.
