Joining 5020 Records, Christina Aguilera Ends Cooperation With RCA After 26 Years
JAKARTA - Christina Aguilera is known to have officially signed a contract with 5020 Records. This marks the end of his collaboration with RCA Records after 26 years.
Launching Variety, in recent months many fans have speculated that Aguillara has separated from the music label that handled it since the beginning of her career. The speculation came true after the 5020 logo appeared on the official website of the 43-year-old singer.
Representatives from Sony Music have also confirmed that Aguilera is now under 5020, a Miami-based music label, promoting songs from Nathy Peluso and Kenia Os.
Similar to RCA Records, 5020 Records is under Sony Music. Thus, Aguilera remains with his old parent company.
On the RCA Records website, the name and photo of Christina Aguilera have also been removed from the artist list page.

Meanwhile, Christina Aguilera signed the first contract with RCA when Ron Flair was still Senior Vice President. Flair decided to recruit the singer after hearing Aguilera sing the song 'Run to You' from Whitney Houston.
At the time, RCA reportedly spent $1 million on songwriters, producers and voice training to develop Aguillara to become a singer worthy of title.
