Sherina Reveals The Influence Of Elfa Secioria In Her Music Style
JAKARTA - The appearance of Sherina as a child singer in the late 1990s cannot be separated from the cold hands of Elfa Secioria. The Sundanese musician is the producer and songwriter for Sherina's works that are still known today.
Sherina herself acknowledged Elfa Secioria's big role in her music career. He said the musician who died in 2011 had influenced his musical style to date.
"For me personally, the role is huge. Om Elfa, unconsciously when I was a child, formed the way I made music today," said Sherina when met in Bintaro, South Tangerang some time ago.
Elfa Secioria's style in assembling melody and harmony is one of Sherina's inspirations in writing songs. For the singer 'If I'm Big Later', Elfa is able to make complicated but easy-to-hear chordal progressions.
"And finally when I composed a song, it turned out that I also challenged myself to look for something that sounded simple even though the series was diverse," said Sherina.
"So, without realizing it, if you hear the music, it's easy to absorb but rich. And I really try to do what I do to be like that with my heart," he continued.

Not only that, Elfa's thorough figure with small details during the production process also made Sherina a perfectionist figure, especially when she was appointed as producer for the Sherina 2 Adventure soundtrack.
Sherina also said that Elfa Secioria, with what had been done for Indonesia, had made a big contribution to the development of the Indonesian music industry.
"Elfa's Singers are extraordinary singers. Anyway, Om Elfa's graduates are strong singers and performers and have beautiful characteristics. There are so many people with Om Elfa. He was my mentor, he was my teacher, sometimes he was a parent too," said Sherina.
