President Jokowi Instructed BNPB To Handle West Sumatra Flash Floods

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has instructed the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) to deal with cold lava floods that occurred in West Sumatra (West Sumatra).

"I have ordered the Head of BNPB to get there immediately and have arrived there," said President Jokowi in Konawe, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 14.

Jokowi admitted that he continues to monitor the development of cold lava floods in the area.

"We have also called what the progress is, what the conditions are, we follow it," he said.

President Jokowi also wants to visit directly in West Sumatra to see firsthand the conditions in the area.

"I also want to go there, but still set the time. Because there are many landslides in the road, refugees are also just arranged, later when the time is right I will immediately review it to West Sumatra," said Jokowi.
