Alexander Marwata Claims To Be Looking For Contacts With Inspector General Of The Ministry Of Agriculture For Ghufron

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Alexander Marwata admitted that he helped find contacts from the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) for his colleague, Nurul Ghufron, who would ask about the mutation process of his friend's son-in-law.

This was conveyed by Alexander after attending the trial for alleged ethical violations of the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, Tuesday, May 14. Alexander admitted to asking for the number of Inspector General of the Ministry of Agriculture through his friend who works at the ministry.

"Incidentally, the person concerned (Nurul Ghufron, ed) does not have an Inspector General number. He asked me, 'Do you have a friend number at the Ministry of Agriculture?'. 'Oh, you have, right,' Alexander said imitating his conversation with Ghufron at that time to reporters at the KPK ACLC Building, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, Tuesday, May 14.

"Incidentally, my friend studying at STAN was working there as the head of the financial bureau. I asked him, his name was Puadi. Bro, do you have his phone number, Mr. Inspector General? "What's wrong, boss?", "Pak Ghufron wants to call," he continued.

After the communication, Alexander admitted that he got the number Kasdi Subagyono, who was then Inspector General of the Ministry of Agriculture before becoming Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture and is now entangled in a corruption case with former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo. He then gave it to Ghufron.

"It's worth it, Mr. Kasdi," he said.

Alexander admitted that he did not know Kasdi. Likewise with Ghufron.

Next, Alexander said he didn't talk about anything with Kasder. Pak Ghufron contacts, asking, "The point is how the employee mutation mechanism is. That's actually the problem," he said.

The communication occurred before the anti-corruption commission ensnared Syahrul Yasin Limpo. "At least there is no report from Dumas to the leadership that we are processing the case at the Ministry of Agriculture. There is no report," said Alexander.

As previously reported, the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, will be tried for ethics because he is suspected of communicating with the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) regarding employee mutations on Thursday, May 2.

The KPK Council decided that the trial would be held because it had a number of evidences. Including information from related parties, such as former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

However, because Ghufron was not present, the KPK Council postponed and the trial was held again on May 14.

Ghufron's absence was caused by filing a lawsuit with the State Administrative Court (PTUN). He claimed that the alleged ethics committed could not be followed up by the KPK Council because it had expired because it occurred in March 2022 and was only followed up in December 2023.
