Borneo FC Replaces Persija At ASEAN Club Championship 2024/2025
JAKARTA - Borneo FC fulfilled the representative of Indonesia who competed in the ASEAN Club Championship (ACC) 2024/2025.
Pesut Etam accompanied PSM Makassar to compete in the competition throughout ASEAN from July 2024 to May 2025.
Supposedly, PSM and Persija Jakarta should have appeared in ACC 2024/2025 as representatives of Indonesia from the champions and runners-up of Liga 1 2022/2023.
However, the Kemayoran Tigers refused to participate on the grounds that they wanted to focus on preparing the team in Liga 1 for the 2024/2025 season.

Because of this decision, Borneo FC then came forward as a substitute. Pesut Etam played in ACC 2024/2025 as the Regular Series Champion of Liga 1 2023/2024.
The 2024/2025 ACC Draw has also been held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
PSM is in Group A with BG Pathum United (Thailand), Terengganu FC (Malaysia), and Doang A Thanh Hoa FC (Vietnam). Two other clubs in Group A will be determined in the playoffs.
Meanwhile, Borneo FC is in Group B with Buriram United (Thailand), Kuala Lumpur City FC (Malaysia), Cong An Hanoi FC (Vietnam), Kaya FC Iloilo (Philippines) and Lion City Sailors FC (Singapore).
